Initial Consultation
Initial Consultation
ABVC provides a range of professional migration services to businesses and those who are looking to live and work in Australia. For many, the first step will be an initial consultation with one of our qualified and experienced registered migration agents, regarding their potential migration options.
At your initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to describe your business goals and current circumstances. We will then consider whether we can provide migration assistance to you, and give you general information about your options, along with the processes and likely costs involved.
During your consultation, you can expect the following from us:
• Preliminary advice regarding your visa options, based on the information that you provide
• An outline of the requirements for your visa option(s) and the process involved; for instance, what steps you must take to apply for the relevant visa
• An estimate of the likely costs involved
• Guidance as to whether we can provide migration assistance to you
The purpose of the initial consultation is to gain a thorough understanding of your aims and objectives that will allow us to determine the best visa pathway for you. It may be that after the initial consultation, we decide that we cannot provide migration assistance to you.
NOTE: We are NOT able to provide detailed migration assistance to you at your initial consultation.
Should you require further migration advice and assistance following our consultation, you will need to formally engage our services (see below).
Next Steps
Immediately after our initial consultation, we will send you Fact Sheets regarding any potential visa options that we have identified for you. Our Fact Sheets include general information on the criteria and process for the relevant visa (or other immigration matter), along with an estimate of our professional fees.
Should you wish us to assist you in pursuing your chosen migration option, we will then invite you to formally engage our services. We will send you an agreement that describes the services that we will provide, along with the professional fees and other costs involved.
Please note that if you would like to consult us further regarding your possible migration options (for instance, if you wish us to conduct a full assessment of your eligibility for any given visa), then you must first enter into a formal agreement with us, as required by law ₁.
₁.Section 43 of the Code of Conduct, which regulates the conduct of registered migration agents, prohibits agents from providing immigration assistance to clients (unless this occurs during an initial consultation) without a signed service agreement in force.
Fee Payment
We charge a professional fee for this service, which must be paid prior to your consultation. The fee is £125 or AUD$200. We will send you an itemised invoice and receipt for your payment. Please note that we do not offer refunds of professional fees paid for initial consultations.
Consumer Guide
A copy of the Consumer Guide issued by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority(OMARA), which we adhere to, is available under the heading ‘Code of Conduct’ on the homepage of the ABVC website. This explains our professional obligations as Registered Migration Agents, including our responsibility to be honest about your chances of obtaining a visa, to provide correct advice and to act in accordance with the law.
Confidentiality
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the information and documents that you provide before, during and after your initial consultation are kept confidential and secure, in accordance with our professional and legal obligations. Please note that we may record our consultation with you, to ensure that we have an accurate account of the information that you have provided, and the migration options we have discussed. Any such recording made will be stored in a confidential and secure manner, as required by law. Please contact us if you would like further details.
